Here I am again confessing the same faults to Him, An Examination of conscience tells me, I should confess again, Why can't I stop the sin, all by myself, He said son because you
need me, then it occurred to me.
That I love Him, cause He loved me first, and I can't hide from Him,
He calls me, and I hear Him, to take courage and acknowledge the sin
With humility and a contrite heart, he'll heal my soul in every part,
Through the Father, Son and Holy Ghost, Sweet Absolution!
So I'm off again, renewed in grace with His pardon and peace
But the fascination with this freedom can be so illusory,
Will I truly make the change, in my whole life, receiving the heart
He has for me, the one of fidelity
And I love Him, but He loved me first, how could I hide from Him,
He calls me, even in my worst, to take courage and acknowledge my sin
With humility and a contrite heart, He'll heal my soul in every part,
Through the Father, Son and Holy Ghost, Sweet Absolution!
Is it so essential that I confess my sins to him?
God already knows I'm sorry isn't that enough?
Reconciliation with the Church we love,
Is Reconciliation with our God from above.
Do you love Him, Do you feel that thirst, Well Come find new life in Him,
He calls you, even in your worst, to take courage and acknowledge your sin
With humility and a contrite heart, he'll heal your soul in every part,
Through the Father, Son and Holy Ghost, Sweet Absolution,
To be renewed in every way, sweet absolution.
It's a miracle in our day, sweet absolution,
Just believe and receive, sweet absolution.
A few thoughts on confession
Confession is like cleaning your house. If you did not clean your house, dirt would build up. The regular practice of confession is something recommended by saints and Popes. If we keep our house in order, we can be ready for Jesus if he was going to make a surprise visit. In this sacrament we recycle human garbage. We receive spiritual graces to be stronger and to improve our courage and will. To have a clear, concise, concrete and complete confession we can clear the sin from our lives. Confession is only necessary in the case of serious sin, but to confess regularly helps to foster cleanliness of the soul. The loss of the sense of sin is one of the greatest challenges facing our society. The great beauty of confessing to another person is that we can continue to be accountable in our relationship with God and not retract into our own private world. Sorrow and amendment helps us to be truly sorry and to make amends to start completely again.
Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained.
